NAHB Opposes OMB Proposal to Reform National Flood Insurance Program

The Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney submitted a proposal to reform the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) on Oct. 4. The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), while supporting reforms to keep the NFIP sound, announced it strongly opposes the new proposal by OMB to phase out new NFIP policies for newly-constructed homes because it would create uncertainty in the housing market and impair economic growth.
