Join a Committee
Committee meetings take place at the Dallas Builders Association office on a monthly basis. While serving on a Committee is voluntary, you will be asked to use your skills to accomplish the committee’s task and goals.
The ARC Awards, created for Associates, Remodelers and Custom Builders, recognizes areas of unique achievement in both custom building and renovation in approximately 60 different categories. Help this committee with the next award program and reception.
This annual holiday party features casino games, silent auction, food and networking with fellow Dallas BA members. The festivities include prizes for the highest “funny money” winners at the tables and a Texas Hold’em Tournament.
* Casino Christmas is held in early December at Dallas BA offices. Committee meets monthly August through early December
This committee’s purpose is to develop and recommend an Annual Education Agenda consisting of NAHB Designation courses and quality continuing education classes offered exclusively to housing industry professionals. The Dallas BA is committed to improving and sharpening your skills to keep you at the top in your field.

The Dallas BA Open is an annual event that invites builders and associates to come together and network over a round of golf. This Florida scramble event starts with lunch and ends with dinner and awards. Assist the committee in planning and executing this event.
Government Relations Committee
This committee’ s ongoing efforts are to assist the Association when it comes to listening and proactively addressing industry concerns. Successful advocacy efforts save individual builders and home buyers several thousands of dollars per home each year. Assist the Association on issues impacting housing affordability and the viability of your business

HOMEPAC Board of Governors
HOMEPAC, the Dallas Builders Association’s political action committee, is an essential part of the Dallas BA’s advocacy program. HOMEPAC provides contributions in support of pro-housing candidates for both statewide office and in local races. You must be a contributor to HOMEPAC to join this committee.
*Meets on the last Tuesday of every month
Each fall the Association’s leadership—from senior officers to division and council directors—is installed in a gala event featuring a cocktail reception and sumptuous meal. In addition, the Dallas BA’s most prestigious awards are presented, including the Hugh Prather Award for a builder and the Associate of the Year. This committee helps plan this annual event.
* Meets monthly January through September
This committee’s goal is to oversee the communications efforts of the Association, both internal and external. This includes maintenance of an effective PR plan, guidance in the development of the Dallas BA website and publications, and establishment of marketing efforts.
*Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month
Membership Development Committee
This committee’s purpose is to oversee the Association’s membership net growth by recommending strategies and action plans designed to increase membership by attracting new members and retaining existing members.
Ambassadors welcome new members and help them get involved.
Membership Retention Committee
This subcommittee works to retain existing members.
The Spike Club is a national recognition program for membership recruitment and retention. The Spike Club chairman manages these recognitions on a local level.
*The combined Membership Development and Membership Retention meeting takes place on the first Monday of every month at 11:30 a.m.
These awards recognize maximum creativity in sales and marketing. These architects, brokers, builders, developers, interior designers, sales and marketing professionals make and influence the product decisions on what will be featured in models, sales centers and new homes. Assist the committee in planning this next great event.
*McSAM Awards will be held in March 2017. The committee meets monthly October through March.
Serve on a Division or Council
In addition, each of the Association’s divisions and councils is governed by its own Board of Directors, made up of members who have expressed interest in serving and who are elected in July.

Serve on a Board
The Dallas Builders Association is governed by an elected Board of Directors that directs policies and operations of the Association according to its bylaws. Each June a canvass is sent to members, who are asked to express their interest in serving for the following 12 months. The Nominating Committee then develops an official ballot, and builder/remodeler/developer members cast their votes in the Board election that is held in August.
