Proposed Regulation of Electricians Could Cause Unnecessary Delays

The Texas Association of Builders has expressed concerns with proposed changes to rules governing the supervision of electrical licensees. Specifically, the industry is concerned that additional requirements on supervising licensees, who currently ensure quality electrical installation on site, will lead to unnecessary delays.

The proposed rules may also create confusion, misunderstanding, and uneven enforcement due to conflicts with existing regulations without resulting in a measurable increase in safety. This issue continues to be discussed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation’s Electrical Safety and Licensing Advisory Board.
