Member, Institute of Residential Marketing

The Member, Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM) designation is the fourth and most prestigious designation given by the Institute. The MIRM is the top-level achievement for professionals in new home marketing. The IRM courses I through IV must be completed, and a case study must be written and approved in order to achieve the MIRM designation.

MIRM Getting Started:

Complete required courses (4) and pass accompanying tests:

  1.  
    1. Understanding Housing Markets, and Consumers (IRM I)
    2. Marketing Strategies, Plans and Budgets (IRM II)
    3. Lifestyle Merchandising, Advertising, and Promotion Strategies (IRM III)
    4. The Challenge of New Home Sales Management (IRM IV)
  • Earn 50 designation elective credits - see Table 1 for more information
  • Have at least three (3) years of full-time new home sales and marketing experience
  • Complete the IRM Professional Profile for MIRM Candidates
  • Write an approved marketing case study focusing on a new home community

Associated Fees

  • Candidate application fee (professional profile):
    $100 NAHB members
    $150 non-NAHB members
  • Renewal fee: |
    $65 annual for NAHB/NSMC members
    $95 for NAHB members
    $150 annual dues for non-NAHB members

Continuing Education Requirements

  • Eight (8) continuing education hours every three (3) years
