| The Member, Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM) designation is the fourth and most prestigious designation given by the Institute. The MIRM is the top-level achievement for professionals in new home marketing. The IRM courses I through IV must be completed, and a case study must be written and approved in order to achieve the MIRM designation. | ![]() |

Complete required courses (4) and pass accompanying tests:

- Understanding Housing Markets, and Consumers (IRM I)
- Marketing Strategies, Plans and Budgets (IRM II)
- Lifestyle Merchandising, Advertising, and Promotion Strategies (IRM III)
- The Challenge of New Home Sales Management (IRM IV)
- Earn 50 designation elective credits - see Table 1 for more information
- Have at least three (3) years of full-time new home sales and marketing experience
- Complete the IRM Professional Profile for MIRM Candidates
- Write an approved marketing case study focusing on a new home community
Associated Fees
- Candidate application fee (professional profile):
$100 NAHB members
$150 non-NAHB members - Renewal fee: |
$65 annual for NAHB/NSMC members
$95 for NAHB members
$150 annual dues for non-NAHB members
Continuing Education Requirements
- Eight (8) continuing education hours every three (3) years
