About HBA
Structure Its Builder members are engaged in single and multifamily building, land development, remodeling and rehab and general light construction. Its Associate members are companies and individuals who provide materials, products, financing and many other services, including subcontracting, to builders and developers. The Association is governed by an elected Board of Directors which directs policies and operations of the Association according to its Bylaws. An Executive Committee is the policy, finance and steering committee of the HBA, and oversees affairs of the Association between meetings of the Directors, subject to actions of the Board. The Officers are charged by the Bylaws with specific duties. A professional staff is retained to implement Association policies and to carry out the work of the Association, major elements of which are governmental affairs and community relations, education and training, communications, meetings and programs, administration of HBA business affairs, management aids and materials and many other types of membership services. Established in 1944 as an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), HBA has a seven-county jurisdiction: Dallas, Collin, Denton, Ellis, Hunt, Kaufman and Rockwall. It is additionally affiliated with the Texas Association of Builders (TAB). This means that members of the Greater Dallas Association automatically are also members of NAHB and TAB. Together, the three Associations (local, state and national) form one of the nation’s largest and strongest trade associations, as befits an industry of such fundamental importance. Together, the Associations comprise the only organization working around the clock exclusively in the interest of residential builders and developers. |
